Holly Hunter is a well-known American actress also known as a producer, director and actress. Her work has been recognized for films such as Broadcast News The Firm The Piano The Incredibles and The Incredibles. Her film Piano won her an Oscar. The talented actress began her career in acting on the stage through a variety of Broadway as well as Off-Broadway productions. Passionate about acting since her childhood, she performed Helen Keller in a play during the 5th grade. When she was in the fifth grade after having mumps she lost her hearing in her left ear. However, she did not allow that to stop her. When she was in college studying drama and moving in New York City with her ambitions with her sights set. She ran into Beth Henley in an elevator and the pair collaborated in Broadway Crimes of the Heart, Hunter's first film. She relocated into Los Angeles and tried to get film roles. For Swing Shift, she landed the role of a back-up. Over the past three decades, since her time in Los Angeles Holly Hunter has been in many films, television movies and series. Holly Hunter has a Hollywood Walk of Fame actor and was awarded the Women in Film Lucy Award.
